THE APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION

The apostolic succession of takes us to the Church to three conclusions serve that us to strengthen plus our faith in the Son of God, without fluctuating because of the division of the Church in so many denominations. On the one hand, that the Spirit Santo does not leave single the Church it organizes, it, it directs, it equips, it takes care of, it gives growth, it regenerates and it supervises. On the other hand that the Christian, as much the one who has been time in the Way, like which he begins, can be sure that the Gentleman will not leave to him and will take to him everywhere by the good Way with brothers to where goes. And on the other hand that the Gentleman continues sending apostles by everybody to those zones where the Gospel is not known, it is Arab Africa, China, countries or indigenous zones without the necessity of apostolic councils, but under Their own and superior Spiritual authority.

When Mr. Jesus Christ instructed to the apostles for the Great Commission, to take the Gospel to all the Earth nations, first they hoped to that the promise of the Father was fulfilled, the unction of the Spirit Santo. Before they named to Matías so that it took the vacant position and thus to receive the Gentleman being 12 again, between the 120 that was in the first Christian Pentecostés. It is from here that the apostles would see the hand of the Gentleman, after being they at the outset a time concentrating in Israel before in the nations and the Spirit Santo he would take part, leading the evangelical conquest of the world. The history of the Church in its different periods has shown a progressive deterioration of the apostolate after the councils that ended at an extreme clericalism, until the protestant reform arrived. Beginning the 21st century new apostolic movements have arisen from marriages that they lead to groups of pentecostales churches, with doubtful apocalyptic doctrines and forced supernatural manifestations. In the same way that the Catholic church has maintained the government system episcopal and a moved away doctrine of the Bible, and it puts in front the tradition although she is opposite to the Word of God, the false pentecostales movements based on the emotions and obligatory supernatural manifestations also move away of the healthy doctrine. It means this that the government of the church does not have to be apostolic.

In order to clarify to the apostolic succession and its effect in the Church, we must approach the first traditional concept of the history of the apostolic succession that concentrates exclusively in the chair of the Pedro apostle in Rome, and that originates from the confession of Pedro to the Gentleman and its consequence:

… Jesus said to Simón Pedro: Simón, son of Jonás, you love to me more than these? It responded to him: Yes, Sir; you know I love you that. He said to him: He feeds my ewes… Juan 21:15.

… Responding Simón Pedro, he said: You are the Christ, the Son of the living God… … And I also say to you, what you are Pedro “Petrus�, and on this rock “petra� I will build my church; and the doors of Hades will not prevail against her. And (Church mine) I will give the keys you of the kingdom of skies… Mateo 16.

This went education of Jesus Christ to Pedro.

… Acercándoos to him, rejected alive stone certainly by the men, but for selected and precious God, you also, like stones cheers, thirst built like spiritual house and priesthood santo… 1Pedro 2.

… Request to the old ones that they are between you, old I also with them and witness of the sufferings of Christ, that I am also participant of the glory that will be revealed: You feed the congregation on God that is between you, taking care of of her, not by force, but voluntarily; not by dishonest gain, but with spirit soon; like not having señorío of that they are to your care, but being examples of the congregation. 1Pedro 5.

This went education of Pedro to the old ones. Totally in line and spiritual coherence with the education of the Teacher.

In addition the apostolic succession on the chair to the Pedro apostle, concludes according to the catholic tradition in which he was the bishop of Rome during 25 years. This tradition lacks basic Biblical or historical, since Pedro, except in its death, was not in Rome, that is to say by all the letters of Pablo in the Bible, in which whenever it talks about the brothers of the capital of the empire, never it mentions him.

A supremacy of Pedro as head of the Church on the other apostles is not what shows the first council of Jerusalem in Facts 15, presided by Santiago, nor the treatment that gave Pedro to the brothers, according to its own letter in which it is located in Babylon, where there was a great Jewish community honoring his work of apostle to the Jews, as well as Pablo honored his to the Gentile ones. It is argued in some sources that this Babylon is symbolically Rome; the reader discerns.

Knowing at this point of the history and of the interpretation of the words of the Gentleman in Mateo 16:13 - 20; Marks 8:27 - 30; Lucas 9:19 - 21: … your you are Pedro (gr. petros, stone), and on this rock I will build my Church, and the doors of Hades will not prevail against her… with reference to the faith of Pedro in Christ like the Son of God, revealed by the Father, nowadays, cannot be discussed - although still they do it to the catholics that the stone was the person of Pedro, but the faith in Christ. This last one was taught by the immense majority of bishops of the first centuries, mainly by those of greater relevance in the education of the healthy doctrine of the Church, besides own the Pedro in his first letter in chapter two. If it were Pedro and its successor the head of the Church, how he is that the church of Rome has turned aside so much of the healthy doctrine? He would not have been thus if that Roman exposition were the true one.

Neither the continuators of the work of the apostles, who appear in the Bible, like Lucas, Timoteo, Tito, Bernabé, etc. nor the first parents of the Church have never taught the priority of the bishop of Rome, of which I mention to some:

San Agustín bishop of Hipona, in his commentary on the first epistle of Juan, explains the confession of Pedro: … What means these words: I will build my Church on this rock? They mean: I will build my Church on this faith, on which you say to me: Your you are the Christ, the Son of alive God. And in one of its famous sermons Agustín of the following form would preach: Your you are Pedro, and on this rock, (stone) that you have confessed, on this rock that you have recognized confessing: Your you are Christ, the Son of alive God, I will build my Church; on My same one, that I am the Son of God I will build, it; and not on you. With this affirmation of Agustín we can begin exposing what at his time it was the common faith between the Church of the first parents, like also San Ignacio, bishop of Antioch, 98 a.C., San Jerónimo, San Hilario de Poitiers, San Cirilo, San Ambrosio of Milan, San Juan Crisóstomo, and the others showed in the Council of Chalcedon a same faith on the confession of Pedro, and the bishop of Rome did not have any supremacy on the others.

Policarpo, bishop of Izmir, 155 d.C. Church of Izmir, met a Juan (possibly to the apostle) disciple Jesus Christ. It defended in his writings the incarnation of Jesus. One met several times with the bishop of Rome, Aniceto, with respect to the date of Passover. There was supremacy of the no bishop of Rome.

The churches of greater relevance were the one of Jerusalem, most influential Antioch, Alexandria, Rome, and Constantinople, and its bishops in the councils. Finally two of them car considered superiors to the others, the one of Rome and the one of Constantinople, which would be excomulgarían to each other giving rise to the two churches, Greek Roman and Orthodox Catholic. From that one final division it would arise the beginning of papado and one weakened vision of the apostolate and the government of the Church that lasts to the present time in this institution; and the rivalry between churches also. It can extend more on the History of the Church.

 

 

THE CHAIR OF THE 12 APOSTLES

It must have a chair for each one of the 12 apostles due to the election of Matías to maintain 12, in line with the 12 tribes of Israel, or was only until Pentecostés to establish the foundation of the history of the Church from the coming of the Spirit Santo. What is an apostle, which is its function and which are the signals that accompany to him? Exist today apostles? If the Church of Christ is apostolic, what means this exactly.

The Biblical Text of Mateo 10, Marks 6:7 - 13 and Lucas 9:1 - 6 shows to us that:

The Gentleman said to them to the twelve that there were 12 thrones in which the 12 apostles would sit down to judge the twelve tribes of Israel. Also groups of twelve in Apocalypse 21 are mentioned both. These two groups are the bases historical and doctrinal of both testaments and with respect to Gentile Jews and, that in the faith in the Mesías Yahshua come together in a single town. Once the Church constructs on the stone of the faith in the Son of God, the twelve apostolic foundations remembers the twelve charismas to us that we saw in the 12 Apostles, but does not feel twelve chairs, but one, the one of Mr. Jesus Christ. Apostolic history would follow with two men who would be called apostles of relevance along with the 12: Matías, that the place would take from Judas, and Pablo. Other 7 men of faith, calls deacons, were named by the excellent apostles, Christians like Esteban, that died after the persecution of Pablo, before becoming this one to Christ, and Bernabé, companion of Pablo, the apostle called directly by the Gentleman and not among the 12.

Thus the church was born from Antioch by unknown apostles, Facts 11:19 to the 30, but that brotherly they collaborated in the work with the well-known ones.

Of this historical narration of the beginnings of the Church we see with extreme clarity that is the Gentleman and it hierarchy of the disciples, that organizes, does not direct and carries out the expansion of the message of the Gospel, and that stops it calls to all those that is arranged to serve by love to Him and the fellow to him, to which puts to work in the Great Commission which we see in Mateo 28. The confirmation of the approval of an apostolic or evangelístico ministry on the part of an apostle to a brother prepared and anointed we see, it of the hand of Pablo to Timoteo and Tito. And as the Spirit in Pedro says: … Also, young people, you are subject to the old ones; and all, submissive a humility a others, revestíos… 1Pedro 5:5.

The apostolic battle by the faith has left a history us of brave apostolic disciples, missionaries, gospellers and establecedores of churches that soon they supervised, with friendly and brotherly character, within a humble spiritual authority, from which the fruits of the apostolate arise: The first speech of Pedro, Facts 2:14 - 41, gives to Christ 3,000 people. Pedro and Juan heal to a cripple. Secondly speech of Pedro with Juan, Facts 4, believed 5,000 people. Judgment of condemnation and supernatural death on Ananías and Safira, Facts 5. Pedro and Juan are persecuted. The conversion of Pablo, preaching, health, presentation to the apostles. Pedro and Cornelio. Pedro informing to the church of Jerusalem. Death of brother Jacobo of Juan and imprisonment of Pedro. We know of Bernabé and Saulo in its first trip missionary, Facts 13. The church of Antioch that I have mentioned and that already had old prophets, teachers and. Pablo when it was stoned. The first council in Jerusalem, Facts 15. Pablo, when he went to the governors to present/display his defense of the faith, before Stopping. The ministry of Pablo, the apostle to the Gentile ones. All a motivating history for the present disciple, who follows lives in Facts of the Apostles.

The Apostles as he leaves from his apostolic legacy of the healthy doctrine for the future of the Church would be the authors of four gospels: Mateo or Leví, Marks disciple of Pedro, his two letters; Lucas, disciple of Pablo, his 13 letters and the Facts; Juan, the gospel, the three letters and Apocalypse; Santiago, Judas.

The responsibility of Gospels by the Apostles. As far as the authors of 4 gospels, as all we know, two of them are written by apostles of the 12 and two are disciples of them. Marks were the nickname of Juan, used not to confuse it with Juan gospeller, author of the gospel who takes his name and of three letters more Apocalypse. Juan Marks was disciple of Pedro and her mother had a house in Jerusalem where the Christians met and where Pedro arrived when the Spirit Santo released to him of the jail.

On the other hand, Lucas was the doctor and disciple of Pablo, apostle to the Gentile ones. Lucas, besides the gospel that takes its name would complete its work with the magnificent book of Facts of the Apostles, both with dedication to Teófilo.

Of all this we can conclude that although they are only the two apostles directly called who wrote their gospels, also the other two are of responsibility of direct disciples of two apostles called by the Gentleman, Pedro and Pablo. More cannot be asked.

The conclusion on the chair of the twelve apostles, is that such chair is not the intention in the Church, but such foundation of faith in Christ and a behavior and example that the twelve have demonstrated as healthy and solid, and which the Church in the world has to imitate.

 

 

The true apostolate today

Facts narrate as the apostles taught to name old in each city, not many congregations in each city as they exist today, but one by city: … establishing old in each city… This Biblical doctrine also was rescued and taught by Watchman Nee, that starting off of EE.UU was apostle in China, that taught that in each city it only can have a church, not several, nothing else far from which happens in the reality; although he would be the correct thing, the Spirit Santo is not limited by the organization, once again.

The prince of the apostles is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, that is the envoy of the Father. … Santifícalos in Your truth; Your Word is truth. As sent You me to the world, therefore have sent I them to the world… Juan 17:17 - 18. All Christian is an apostle (sent) to which receives to him, and the one that receives an envoy of Jesus Christ, receives the Son of God, and the one who receives the Son also receives to the Father in its heart by the Spirit Santo.

Nevertheless the history of the apostolate is the one of the apostolic deterioration as far as the government and the dictatorial imposition of norms and traditions in line with those you write and fariseos, and their consequences until today. The apostolic succession, historically speaking, has supposed a mere battle to be able within the churches and a distance of the Christians on the part of its shepherds, who have worried more about the organization than by the souls, as Jesus Christ denounced to before mentioned you write and hypocritical fariseos, besides a distance of the healthy doctrine and a separation of the Church in many branches, that in the end has been in a loss of efficiency fade in the spiritual growth of the Christians and in a lack of brotherly unit that the Gentleman always has had to replace to carry out the Great Commission. These churches, as all we know, have turned aside so much of the doctrine that have ended up giving more importance to their tradition, to his papado and patriarcado, to their norms, their origins and other arguments that are not recognizable before the Bible. This theological dark was illuminated by the protestant reform of Lutero when translating the Bible in vernacular language for the Church in a movement that others as it already had begun, as it were the case of Spain and the Polyglot Bible. Finally the nonclerical Christian could have a direct encounter with the mind of the Gentleman.

The protestant reform would end papado and the head of the Church again happened to be same Christ, for those in search of the truth of God. But some of the catholic traditions would even stay that the calvinismo, in one second doctrinal reform, would be in charge to reduce, although not to purify absolutely, finishing in a presbiteriano system, or of old. Today the evangelical churches baptists and protestants only recognize two figures in the government of the Church, the shepherd (bishop, old or presbítero) and the deacon. The Church was in the greater scriptural purity, nearest the primitive Christianity in its history. From Lutero to the beginnings of the EE.UU of America, the Christianity had advanced so much in the doctrine that the Christian who reads the Bible with a sincere heart before God, receives the revelation of the heart of God. Later, after the conferences baptists in whom the evangelical churches were united to organize events, the Christianity enjoyed a healthy movement in the doctrine and the treatment, although it lacked an organization of government like other traditionalistic churches, his fruits would be the majors and its effect, that before were of smaller effectiveness in the rest of the world, would pass to be effective through the associations when providing the necessary missionaries, apostles who conquer earth where still the Gospel had not been known, and where the charity works were and are emergency, besides having to reform the catholic faith there where it had arrived. Indeed world-wide the evangelísticas associations have united to the churches for the organization of evangelísticos events at world-wide level, but not as far as government. The EE.UU churches have sent missionaries, apostles by everybody and planted churches by all the countries, and without no Pope, nor episcopal system. And this organizational chart of down above, where the churches are independent in their government, but agrees in the doctrine because they preach the same gospel based on the Bible with the guide of the Spirit Santo, has produced the majors fruits of the history of the Church.

He was at the beginning of century XX when many Christians threw in lack a charismatic manifestation of the gifts of the Gentleman in some Churches baptists, who had become a too serious form of praise for them, and too much Biblical study, although not thus in the song churches gospel. These are until today the pentecostales churches, that make a greater emphasis in the supernatural manifestations, the praise, the spilling of the Spirit Santo, but who in many occasions neglects the education of the healthy doctrine. The unitary branch of the pentecostal church does not believe in the Trinidad of people within the Deity, but standard that God reveals itself in three manifestations; it indoctrinates well-known like unicity.

At the end of this synthesized history we found a resurgence of the apostolic system in the protestant churches, indeed of the hand of the pentecostales churches. And again it is observed that the effect that produces is a distance of the healthy doctrine of the Bible and a system of authority imposed on the shepherds of the churches. The doctrine in this case changes by the emotions of supposedly pentecostales manifestations: “if you do not speak in languages, you have not been born again from the Spirit Santo�. The first apostolic church that imposed the authority was and is the catholic, and its moved away doctrinal deviation of the Bible is evident. But it is now, or at the end of the time of the gentile ones, when we see again like the implantation of that imposed apostolic authority, returns to derive in the doctrinal deviation also moved away of the Bible, surely by an attempt of rationalization of the immensity of God, or to want to feel and to receive from God being ignored the Bible.

What means this reaction on the apostolic system in the Church? Perhaps the Church of Christ is not apostolic. The answer is: yes that is it, of course, but the man and the enemy of the man, do that the anxieties of imposition of authority and ideas destruction of the Church becomes a powerful weapon of car. If we observed the treatment that we read in Facts of the Apostles, and in all the letters, besides the exquisite treatment of the Gentleman in Gospels, we understand what is what means the apostolate and, with him, the true apostolic succession. Although all the Christians we are apostles to the souls from which they receive Christ if we preached the Gospel to them, because their souls are the promised Earth of the Gentleman, which is conquered for Him, the apostolate of the old ones must be a reference of doctrinal and brotherly solidity in the churches of the world, a reference in the cities, and a guarantee of coordination between the Body of Christ.

While I write these lines, the churches of healthy doctrine have chosen for being congregational, that is to say, independent, and, yes, the doctrine can be santa, the friendly treatment and brotherly, the cults of praise for the glory of the Gentleman, but the restrained work is still something, the work of evangelisation at national level and world-wide it does not bear all the fruits that can give for want of coordination, of evangelísticos events, mass media which they arrive at the citizen who is not disciple, of television channels which they arrive free at all the houses. This does not happen in all the nations, but in some, many, as the Gentleman says: … the nations that had been safe… Apocalypse 21:24. The Church is not winning in all the cities to the powers govern that them, for which must first have unit of the Church. Meanwhile we pray so that Internet continues being the means of greater evangelístico growth, by its transformation in gratuitous television, and especially by the work of so many brothers that are apostles in the countries of the Third World, with limited resources, lack of support of churches of healthy doctrine, because it does not have reach capacity, and because the fight by the survival of the own congregation is already sufficient load for the shepherds which they cannot support a global evangelisation, due to the great doctrinal divisions and of ideas and government it damages, it of the man. … I am of Pablo; and I of Apolos; and I of Cefas; and I of Christ. Perhaps is divided Christ? 1Coríntios 1:12. We have seen in the history of EE.UU like has had many years of blessing, that now we see by its leaders and their citizens who arrive at their aim, influenced by the spiritual power of this world, just as the Islamic and communist Europe, countries or the socialist dictatorships, the new nuclear proliferation, the governments of the world which they follow pawned on dividing the Earth Promised in two states, using to Jerusalem like currency of change, and the lack of sanctity of Israel like nation, all the panorama of the waiting room of the end of the world.

The Scriptures on the other hand show to a clear organizational chart of the Church according to Efesios 4:11 to us, that is divided in these ministries: Apostles, prophets, gospellers, shepherds and teachers, with the aim of building the Church, and the aid of deacons. Is necessary the figure of the apostle in the Church of today? Commands the Gentleman are who them? The message of a true apostle according to the order of the Teacher, Jesus de Nazaret, is to announce that the Kingdom of skies has approached. Mateo 10:7. In contrast today many of which apostles proclaim themselves do not take to this message but the one of submission to their authority and the one of the economic prosperity.
